The concept of "Reaction to Reaction" is meant to visualize the timeline from your impulse reaction - to a more intentional reaction aligned with pursuing your potential.
The first step in this thoughtware exercise is being aware of what is happening.
Identify the Impact:
The impact represents anything (big or small) that triggers your reaction.
Example - You are cut off in traffic.
Big 'impacts' require a longer time allowance (or a reverberation container) for you to heal. Remember to be gentle with yourself, being a human can be hard.
Identify your Reaction:
Your reactions have been coded in your mind from nature and your life experiences. Honor your reactions as they are trying to protect you - then identify if you would like to modify your reaction in the future if a similar impact occurs.
The next time an impact occurs, identify your reaction - breathe deep - and give yourself time. Do not suppress your emotions - feel them and learn from them.
Fear
Excitement
Happiness
Sadness
Jealously
Love
Hate
The emotional reactions you feel, are packets of information presented to you in a primal way - the way animals feel. Use words to help you understand and navigate from this reactive mind to a calm mind. A calm mind allows more wisdom to be considered in your reaction to reaction.
Reaction to Reaction
Your reaction to reaction is an opportunity to follow your impulse reaction with an intentional reaction that aligns with who you would like to be.
As impacts occur, practice the process flowing from your reaction, to your reaction to reaction. Every reaction you have presents the opportunity to reduce the time to your intentional reaction from your impulse reaction. Each experience exercises your mind for the next time - developing your confidence to navigate the next impact.
